Re: Cw Va-25 A7-e

I think the detailing is off. The stars on th wband look terrific. But the green on the windshield, under it is mushy. Same for the paint on the missiles, some things not sjharp and soem not lined up properly. It looks like the guys at the factory got a bit distracted with the painting on this one. I hope its just the prototype and that the quality control picks up a bit better on the main batch. Otherwise, it looks like there is a real slip of quality on these models. Really hope that is not the case. On the larger models, there is no excuse for letting things like that go to pot. Makes a 400 scale look razor sharp in comparison.

Re: Cw Va-25 A7-e

It's just a prototype sample. They never look as good. They are often hand-painted and decaled, as the final tampo printing isn't set up yet for mass-production. They're just a "test" to see how things will look. And the final version never looks identical---there's always a few errors corrected, etc. I think the biggest number of changes from sample to final production was the VF-101 F-14D.

Interesting, I've never seen that variation before. The caption puts it at several years later than the one I know, as well as the pic I put up. Man, Yoshi sure likes those 1978 schemes!
