Choose The Next Release

I would like to see the results of a poll and comments regarding the next next release from CW. I am looking forward to the A-7 but now I'm curious about the prospects of future releases. Assuming that we are a microcosm of the diecast community, maybe this poll will be more or less accurate?! This is just a list of what I would like to see made - if you would like to vote. I confined my list to some Cold War U.S. Aircraft. I mostly want an F-8 Crusader to be the next release after the A-7 Corsair II comes out but I want them all eventually. Please feel free to add your own list on this thread as well.

Re: Choose The Next Release

You know, I was torn between the F-8 and the F-105. The F-8 would definitely "round out" the Navy castings. When I boot up my "Wings Over Vietnam" simulation both of these are my favorite to fly. However, I voted for the Thunderchief, not enough attention being paid to the Vietnam era Air Force genre in my opinion. There are many bare metal and camo schemes to warrant the production of the F-105.

Re: Choose The Next Release

I know...I'm torn between them all but ultimately had to go with the Crusader for the same reasons you said conemaugh.

Re: Choose The Next Release

Can't vote... no Phantom II on that list (I don't want a speyed Phantom, and I prefer CW do this over HM).

Ah...come on...Elmer - there must be some other plane you could vote for behind the Phantom II - right?

Re: Choose The Next Release

I want a 105 in Viet Nam camo. I would prefer Hobby Master do it as I still can't bring myself to pay $60.00 for something that others would sell for $35.00, more accurate or not. As far as I'm concerned, if it looks like Thud, Tomcat, Eagle, etc., then it is a Thud, Tomcat, Eagle, etc... Just my low brow uneducated opinion.

In my prefered CW order of release:

F-4 Phantom II (naval variants)
F-8 Crusader
FJ-3 (F-1) Fury
F4D (F-6) Skyray
F-11 Tiger

Looks like we may get 2-3 new toolings per year from CW... so one has to be carefully selective with the wishes.

Re: Choose The Next Release

I voted for the Skyray. I'd really like to see that in diecast, along with an F2H Banshee (which was not on the list)...

Be careful though - Ertl has released some of those and they barely resemble them!
