Re: New CW A-7E announced!

If this bird is the correct shade of orange it will be my first CW A-7 now they just need to give a Hi-Vis VA-65 A-6 & Hi-Vis VF-114 F-14A to go along with it.

Re: New CW A-7E announced!

I think the contrast on these photos is too high and that's what is making it look redish/ over saturated. If you look at the pic where it's on the stand, the stand is pretty much washed out because of the contrast. I backed down the contrast on the first pic and it looks a little more like the actual color.

Ah, hell... it is gorgeous. I don't care if the orange is a little dark. Sign me up right now, I'm hooked!

Re: New CW A-7E announced!

We overlook gaping joint lines, screw heads, wrong ordnance, washed out panel lines on our models.
I think we can overlook the wrong shade of orange on a nicely built model,...if it is indeed the wrong shade.

Re: New CW A-7E announced!

If it looks more like that photo then I'm "in" for it....that's a good lookin' SLUFF.

Question though. Did CW get their ejector racks mixed up?...Were these supposed to go on the A-6?...I see there is no snakeye on the inboard (front at least) of the center hardpoint. I have seen many photos however of A-7s carrying full loads.....What say you, David Hingtgen?

Re: New CW A-7E announced!

I think from other pics that all "inboard" mounts are empty on the CW A-7, which is very common on the A-7. IMHO, the standard "all dumb bomb load" for an A-7 would be 4 MER's, each with the lower and outboard mounts filled.

The A-6 is an inherently larger plane with a larger load, and can more easily accomodate "a bomb everywhere physically possible" and won't worry about weight. The A-7 is not easily able to carry THAT many bombs, so they are loaded in the easiest//best/most aerodynamic way. Which is usually Slant-2 for most weapons.

Put it in the window to fade it out just like the real deal.
