Re: 1st ANG "SLUF" should be:

I'd like to see "VA" on the tail of the color scheme Mr. Hingtgen posted above!

I think you meant to say "HA" with that scheme.

Re: 1st ANG "SLUF" should be:

That scheme is good too.. I really like the USAF camo schemes on these birds.
I thought the tail code IA is from Iowa ANG which had A-7D / A-7K from 1977 to 1992 ...In 1992 they got the Vipers.

Re: 1st ANG "SLUF" should be:

IA is Iowa, but HA is also Iowa. We have TWO ANG squadrons (for reasons unknown---never knew Iowa had such strategic importance). IA is Des Moines "The Hawkeyes", HA is Sioux City "The Bats".

And the short history of having A-7's then transitioning to F-16's in 92 applies to both of them.

If anything, I'd expect one in the two-tone grey of Sioux City, as the best and most famous A-7 details book is purely composed of photos of those planes. But Des Moines is my home squadron, and I best remember them in green/grey, so that's what I'd like.

And those F-16s still fly here...almost every day.

Don't do what BDE tells you to do. Do what BDE would want you to do.

Re: 1st ANG "SLUF" should be:

O.K. If you guys want an ANG A-7D in Green/Gray Camo, I guess it can be done in this "Pittsburgh" scheme.. Enjoy!! BTW if ya gonna spell "Pittsburgh" it goes with an "h" after the g.. Unless you live in Calif, then there is a "Pittsburg" listed there..
