I have two other CW Cats... and those open/close fine, so this is definitely a defect...

Well, thats your 2 vs my 7 with that canopy. unless you just shove it down or rip them open.

not following you Andrew -- your 7 work perfectly or have the same issue unless you slam 'em shut?

nope, all of mine requires a little tug or push to open/close. Though that mainly because I'm too careful wanting to not break these babies

Ah, good to know this is a rare issue then -- pretty sure my prob doesn't have to do with the clip or sliding mechanism... just think the canopy is mishaped a tad near the hinge, as I showed in the pics...

Well I got mine and the canopy works just fine and fits good I even got a card with mine saying it is number 552 of 1000

Again, good to know I'm in the minority here -- update: the solution appears to have been simply to apply more glue.... two days and counting without a "popup"

(And sorry to inform you TN -- but all 1,000 of us that buy the model get a numbered card... )
