Last AJ210 Jolly Rogers F-14A on the Planet!!!

Tonight I purchased the last commercially available Century Wings VF-84 Jolly Rogers F-14A on the planet.
I called or checked the stock of every single CW seller on the CW list of vendors to no avail.
Tonight I did something a little different....
I Googled the model and on page 15 of Googles search I found a place that had apparently only 1 left.
It cost me $77.99 USD.
Shipping was $46.33 from Japan
Did I pay the price for procrastinating?
Yes.
I am happy now and can officially stop begging forum members for one although I would have preferred to have given one of you guys the money for yours.

Congrats Louie! Good to see your hard work of digging paid off -- will make the model that much sweeter when you do get it

(Was that $77 before shipping?)

Re: Last AJ210 Jolly Rogers F-14A on the Planet!!!

Yes sir it was actually $77.99 plus $5 Paypal fee, and $46.33 shipping for a 3 pound box. I pray it arrives in the same condition it left the factory but either way. My search is over. Boy I paid dearly for waiting, but these goodies have been sold out at Century since early September. Thanks diecast gods......
Guess I gotta sell these 2 other kitty's I have. I only need the Jolly F-14 to fill this space in my air armada.

Re: Last AJ210 Jolly Rogers F-14A on the Planet!!!

You will not be disappointed. It may seem like a lot of money to spend on one, but you would have regretted it if you had not bought it. My AJ210 is sitting on my computer desk as I type (alongside the Moonlighters A-6). I have never regreted getting mine. I enjoy looking at it everyday. I still think that the VF-84 scheme is the most attractive F-14 scheme there is.

I think the Moonlighters A-6 is the most attractive A-6 that CW has done, and you can't beat the bomb load it comes with. You might think of looking for one of those before they dry up too. These CW planes are very nice in every respect. I have an A-7E ordered and I am really looking forward to the recently announced F-8 Crusader. Pretty soon this desk is going to look more like a carrier flight deck than a computer desk.

Re: Last AJ210 Jolly Rogers F-14A on the Planet!!!

Umm - Louie - I hope you tried our forum brother Jeff at Aim Higher Jets to see if he had any AJ-210s left because he just announced last week that he made a special purchase and got some in and was selling them for the original price! I just checked his site and they appear to still be in stock! I'm sorry if you didn't check with him first - please tell me you did and he was sold out too!

Re: Last AJ210 Jolly Rogers F-14A on the Planet!!!

'slide, I'm pretty certain Jeff said he sold out of them almost immediately.....

...ayuh, I found the post right heeah.

AJ210 was the last of the Century Wings models in normal configuration. That along with the limited release has made it more popular. However, the last remaining available Century Wings Jolly Rogers AJ203 stock is starting to get low at our store too. We are now sold out on our site of AJ210 after a frenzy last night.....

Take care,
Jeff

I missed Jeffs announcement by a day. I did call him next day, but he was out. Oh well. all's well that ends well right? Cost me the price of 3 Corgi WW1 planes, but I can always find a way to make up for it down the road.

Don't be put off by paying that higher price. That is not as bad as they are going to be when they hit e-bay down the road.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Last AJ210 Jolly Rogers F-14A on the Planet!!!

Hi Louie,

Consider yourself having gotten a GREAT great deal, even with those costly shipping charges from Japan,

Another AJ210 Jolly Rogers F-14A sold on ebay last week for an incredible $265.00, WOW, ebay item# 120199446759

There is also another one on ebay with a Buy It Now price of $275.00,
Geeeez, I should not have hesitated when I was deciding to buy one.

Re: Last AJ210 Jolly Rogers F-14A on the Planet!!!

I figured AJ200 to be the one everyone was trying to get. That and 210 are the non launch configurations, right? I have 210 downstairs and really didn't think much about it. Since there were 4 of these Jolly Rogers ones plus Dragon, FM, Revell etc, I'm surprised collectors don't have their fill.

Also surprised that 4 JR CW versions leave some wanting. Must be better than I thought. Really, the panel lines leave me a bit luke warm on the CW models.
