Re: Century Announces F-8 E,J and P Crusader

I realize it is probably early to be asking this, but does anyone have any information on a release date or schemes that will be offered?

I noticed on the test shot, in addition to the raised wing, there is a slot on the side of the fuselage-- probably for mounting sidewinders or maybe, zuni rockets?

As I am playing Santa and getting out my kid's Christmas gifts tonight, I feel like this announcement is a very nice "gift" from Century Wings for all of us on the forum! Thank you to CW and Merry Christmas to all!

Re: Century Announces F-8 E,J and P Crusader

Geez, ya visit the kids for Christmas and miss all the action.......
Do you realize we started some heavy talk about the F-8 last July? Not a bad turn around if they were listening.
Now what do we start pushing for?

Great news! So if they're actually listening to customers does that mean I might get my F-105??

Wow, this is really amazing. This bird will sell like hotcakes and I know I'll have a plate full.

Anything for a weird life.

Re: Century Announces F-8 E,J and P Crusader

For a good selection of schemes, browse through here: F-8 Gal_Fea Archives Note that many of the best are the F-8C, D, H, and K, which cannot be done from an F-8E/J mold.

For an F-8J, I'll ask for VF-24 CAG, like in the Hasegawa kit (see attached pic, red/black marks). Yes, the nosecone is spiral-striped.

For a French F-8P---D-Day striping! Click here: 1/48 Revell F-8E (FN) Crusader (D-Day) by Anton M. Alerte

And for an RF-8G (c'mon, it was in the Final Countdown--surely it's coming?)---did someone say LOW-VIS? (bottom pic, click on thumbnail)

Re: Century Announces F-8 E,J and P Crusader

PS----while Century doesn't mention it, the fact that they have an F-8J means they also have an F-8E(FN). E and E(FN) are quite different. So they actually can do the E, J, E(FN), and P models.

This is great news, definitely getting one! Amazing what a bad influence you all are. I wouldn't normally be after a $60 model.

Re: Century Announces F-8 E,J and P Crusader

I just had an accident.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.
