CW 1/144 on their website

Looks like CW are going for the 1/144 scale and dioramas by the looks of it! I for one will be very interested to see it!

Re: CW 1/144 on their website

I would hope it does not impact the current scheduled aircraft as well.

I would like to see a smaller scale model with the accuracy of CW. Most small model lose the sharpness and look at a smaller scale. I keep thinking there must be someone out there willing to do an impressive smaller scale, but no one has taken the challenge successfully. It will be interesting to see if CW can pull it off. Given the attention to detail thay have given to the larger scale, they might just do it in the smaller scale as well.

I for one, think it will be pretty cool. Since it's CW it should be a high-quality display that won't take up too much space. Definitely a win-win

I take it you've never seen the quality of Gulliver's Su-27's? or F-4J's. Even their Tomcats are pretty neat. and thats at 1/200

1/144 is ONLY useful if they're of planes that are too big to be 1/72. Like B-1B's, B-52's, XB-70, etc. Even the very highest-quality 1/144 kits are usually inferior to low-quality 1/72 kits. With diecast, it's even worse. (I've seen some 1/200 diecast fighters, and am not impressed at all)

We want more 1/72! And they don't even have to be new molds, just more of what they're already making. We still don't have a single F-14B, despite the numerous colorful high-vis schemes out there that you'd think Century would love to do....

Amen brotha! I just don't want CW to lose their new momentum on the 1/72s. We need more of what they have and F-8s, F-105s, and F-111s as demonstrated in the "Choose The Next Release" poll.

Re: CW 1/144 on their website

Well, i'm more interested in the actual diorama aspect. If they can make more/better dioramas with 1/144 then I'll hop on board. Dragon's Dioramas are ok, but could be better. But then it comes down to "you get what you pay for" and the question would be, who is willing to pay what.
