Re: AJ Came With The Card!!

Dobber,
Not to change the subject, but what do you guys think of model pre-orders? Are you a fan of them or do you wish sites held back a certain amount for release day? I'm torn on the issue because I personally like ordering early and knowing I have a model. Yet I also feel bad for people who might not be as plugged in to forum sites and store mailing lists to know what is coming. I also sometimes think it might keep the hobby from expanding beyond the core collectors.

Just curious.

Take Care,
Jeff

Sounds like a poll opportunity to me

Re: AJ Came With The Card!!

Actually I did pre-order mine. That's why I was curious what is going on. I'll just give the Mule a call to find out what the status is. I just don't remember them ever removing an item from the store before it was even released.

Re: AJ Came With The Card!!

I have seen a similar situation with FM once. Can't remember exactly what it was, but something did "completely vanish", even if you had bookmarked the URL. Then when it was in stock, it was back again.. ::thinks:: Oh yeah, it was the Revell VF-84 I think.

Re: AJ Came With The Card!!

I think they've already sold out all the items they were going to receive and they can't order any more otherwise it would still be there. Its not like those sites that show the item as "in stock" yet when you order, they tell you its sold out.

Re: AJ Came With The Card!!

Andrew,
I can't speak for other stores but on our site, the model automatically hides itself when we no longer have any inventory left. It's worked perfectly all but once when we realized that we forgot to check that product option box in the configuration menu for the model. In that case, we sucked it up and ordered a model from another store and express shipped it to the customer so they would still get it in a timely manner. I agree with you though, I'm not a fan of places that say they have a product as a come-on but then after you order it, it is not available. I think the worst offender that I've seen isn't a hobby store but travelocity. I see a low fare, click on it, configure the times only to get a message after putting in my info that its no longer available! What a waste of time! Urrrgh!

Re: AJ Came With The Card!!

I like that a lot.

Its a real shame about the issues but these things happen.

Still, a very nice model that i would be proud to have in my collection.

Re: AJ Came With The Card!!

I wish I had bought the CW "Black Aces" Tomcat when I had the chance. All of my sources are sold out now. Does anyone know where I can get a new one other than from eBay?

Re: AJ Came With The Card!!

How many of these danged Tomcats does one need??!! I just added my fourth: VF-41 Black Aces AJ100 (182/1000). I passed earlier on it, decided that was dumb, so compounded my mistake by paying more than I originally would have. But I mustn't complain about the cost, for at least I found one, and I am certainly happy I did. It is sitting purtty on my computer desk right now. The glossy black nose is just too

One small issue: the port sidewinder launch rail is missing. I thoroughly searched the box... nada... gone. Looks like it didn't get glued on at the factory. Does anyone know the proper source to contact for the missing part? CW directly? U.S. Distributor? Retailer? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
