They always dump the flawed ones out to the local market (those are the ones with the cards), then they export the rest...

Ha...I thought the same! Sorry to see the quality issues on your model, Aki. Things of this nature makes me a little reluctant to make a purchase, but I usually
could deal with whatever is thrown my way...

Cool Re: AJ Came With The Card!!

Sorry you're unhappy with the assembly issue; however, may I ask a question? Did you attempt to push the offending part into the fuselage? I don't own this particular bird but, on the whole, I've found the "Whoops" on my CWs to be correctable. That gap is so obvious that I don't see how QC could have let it pass. Maybe it came loose in transit, who knows.

Yup, I did..... I'll try to remove them once. Hope the exported ones won't have a worse flaw.

Re: AJ Came With The Card!!

Okay okay, I have to admit it does look pretty nice...I wouldn't give up my Sundowners or Jolly Rogers for it though.
The ventral strake and tailhook issues do look to be "field correctable", and the windscreen gap doesn't look all that bad to me. I don't imagine it could be that noticeable at all in "real life". We're looking at it magnified and it doesn't seem too bad. I can't even detect it at all in the first two profile shots.

Re: AJ Came With The Card!!

Is this release still on track? I don't even see it listed on the Mule anymore. I did preorder it in Oct. but last I saw of it......about a month ago.....was it showing sold out when it originally was a Dec. release. Now there is nothing.

CW was just joking. No one would ever buy a black-nosed Tomcat.....Look for a VF-41 F-14 in "Tomcats-2, Fitters-0" scheme coming soon!...

Re: AJ Came With The Card!!

Dobber,
To answer your question, I'm sure FM is sold out. We at AimHigherJets.com sold out of our pre-orders in less than two weeks. The Last Flight A-6 sold out even quicker. It's hard to order large quantities when only 1,000 are going to be released. Century Wings are definitely becoming more popular as more and more people hear about them.

Not to change the subject, but what do you guys think of model pre-orders? Are you a fan of them or do you wish sites held back a certain amount for release day? I'm torn on the issue because I personally like ordering early and knowing I have a model. Yet I also feel bad for people who might not be as plugged in to forum sites and store mailing lists to know what is coming. I also sometimes think it might keep the hobby from expanding beyond the core collectors.

Just curious.

Take Care,
Jeff
