Re: Why not a VF-1 Wolfpack Tomcat?

Are there any decent pictures of the VF-1 planes Century could do without retooling? I tried using Google to find some, but to be honest I don't really know what I'm looking for.

Re: Why not a VF-1 Wolfpack Tomcat?

There's several they could do without retooling, but none I'm interested in. For me, it's delivery scheme or nothing, as the delivery scheme is just THAT much better than all their other one, and better than just about any other squadron's too.

Basically any scheme but delivery can be done with existing molds. (AFAIK VF-1 had very few schemes--I can only think of 2 besides delivery)

Thanks Zed. I like the red better than the rainbows. That's why I didn't get Cyber-Hobby's.

Re: Why not a VF-1 Wolfpack Tomcat?

Nope. VF-1 is like VF-111 in being known for their bright red markings. Also, VF-1 was always in the 100 series modexes, so unlike VF-111 they never even used yellow accents.

Re: Why not a VF-1 Wolfpack Tomcat?

The 1st picture I posted was completely wrong I posted it in a rush while trying to get to
------------------------------------------------------------------

There are so many minor differences over the years with VF-1’s markings its amazing. I have a picture from 1978 which is almost identical to the 3rd picture Zed posted of a early 80's VF-1 F-14A except for the fact that the wolf’s head is missing from the tip of the red stripe on the side of the nose & the tail markings have 2 white stripes.

Then there is another variation such as the picture below which has the white stripes on the tail and the wolfs head at the tip of the red stripe on the side of the nose but the circle around the wolfs head is white. The plane also has antiglare paint in front of the canopy.
