Re: whats next after the A-6

I just did a search for the movie Final Countdown. Here is the list for the aircraft in the movie. F-14A.A-6E,A-7E,RF-8G, EA-6B S-3A and the one lone helicopter an SH-3H. I hope I live long enough to see all these produced. If in fact, that is what they are doing. Making models of the movie Acft. I'd still go fo an A-4,RA-5C,F-4 and A-1 Century Wings are Great.

Then you can ask HobbyMaster to do a T-6 painted as a zero!
besides, I thought HobbyMaster were going to do an A-7?

Re: whats next after the A-6

since we're 3/4 of the way there with the Intruder, why not a Prowler? :-)

Re: whats next after the A-6

I really would love to see an F-8. The last gunfighter.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: whats next after the A-6

Greetings Colt, welcome to the forum. Pursuing a modest Nam collection myself. Without duplicating (one of each) there were scads of US planes involved in that conflict. Props, Jets.Bombers, you name it. One lifetime is not enough to collect all of them. So soldier on.Enjoy the forum. It's a good place to be.

Re: whats next after the A-6

Just an unsubstantiated observation, but CW is apparently concerned with appealing to the market in Japan (read "Vandy"), so I'd think they'll go with what should be hot sellers there. Following that train of thought, we could see the F-4, F-15 or F-16.

That being said, I can already see a flaw in my logic, as neither F-14 or the A-6 flew with the JASDF. Who (besides Zed) knows...? But if they're as well done as the F-14, they'll sell.

I've spent my money on strippers, diecast airplanes and camera gear. The rest, I've wasted.

Re: whats next after the A-6

If you were to look at modern aircraft, certainly the F-16 has quite the following in Japan. I would love to see the quality of CW on that particular model. But if I have read right, CW was looking to stay with the period or earlier of the F-14. Not totally out of the question with the 16, but it would be nice to see. The F-15 as well is a great aircarft of the time and seeing one angain in that quality would be super.

Re: whats next after the A-6

The F-14 is sexy in any country...hehe And the Jolly Rogers in particular is a no-brainer for Japan as it was used heavily in the Macross series for the fabled Skull squadron of Roy Fokker. There is even an anime about a mercenary air force called Area 88( do a search on veoh). They used F-8s, F-14s, A-4s, F-4s Harriers, Mirage F-1s, to fight against Mig-17s, and 21s...So if they only release what's popular in japan...I can live with that.

I listed F-4 first in my requests, because the only thing out there in 1:72 atm is corgi, which IMHO are not nearly as detailed as the CW offerings...
