Re: Pics of VF-101 Grim Reapers

It is the Century Wings Jolly Rogers # 200 swing wing model. Been sold out for quite a while so I am going overseas to get this one. Have to pay a bit of a premium to do so, but well worth it to me.

AH, cool -- I wanted the first launch config JR but missed the boat on it...

I just got the Grim Reaper (and the second launch config JR) and they are pretty sweet. (Though I haven't assembled 'em yet...)

I do think the panel lines are a bit heavy, though

Re: Pics of VF-101 Grim Reapers

I thought it was pretty nice with the lining actually. The darker paint scheme blends in the lines but they also look darker. But it is still very shallow on the model so it does not have a bad effect. The different coloring on the Jolly Rogers aircraft does look super though. I though it really made the model look great. I am a fan of the squadron as well, so that set really has caught my eye in several ways. I am trying to get the launch configuration from the same source while I am at it since as you noted it cannot be found here in the states. Probably will get all four to make a great display of them.

I think New Century should probably go with a grey lining color to less accent the panel lines. They are almost invisible with many of the weather pictures I have seen of the real thing.

That must be the new showroom 'top down' model of the Tomcat that the Auto Mall dealership in my AO has been promoting lately.

Re: Pics of VF-101 Grim Reapers

Lol I really think the Jolly Rogers is a super piece. And given they made four of them, they would make a super display all four together. And if I add those a-6s... Just need to keep seeing the Nimitz squadrons being manufactured.

Re: Pics of VF-101 Grim Reapers

I received my Grim Reapers Tomcat today, and I can not get one of the main gear assembly to seat correctly, it seesaws. If I push the front of the wheel well in, the back pops out. and if i push the back... you get the idea, not sure where is rubbing and not sure where I should shave excess plastic off the wheel assembly. This is my first CW F-14, so not sure if all their F-14s have this problem.
