Smile Re: Intruder Alert...Intruder Alert...

Woah, what happened to the angle of the re-fueling probe? The AJ / panther art looks crooked (like mine) on the starboard side. Starboard does mean right - right?

All I can say is that you go back an look at the angle (degree) of attack by the cat, and forget the placement of the A & J. I think that's what causing the trompe l'oeil problem you seem to be having. As for the probe, yep it does look off: leans a tad right and the angle of the probe seems to droop. Short of breaking it off, and trying to re-attach it, I'm going to live with it.

Re: Intruder Alert...Intruder Alert...

I see what you mean, stalag, but I think the horizontal strokes of the letters A and J should be horizontal and aligned with the numbers below them like the port side. Did you paint your display stands black? Thanks for posting the reference photos. Now I should go check the angle of my probe.

Depending on the color of the die cast model, e.g., silver, camo, O.D., I like to use a flat black background against which to shoot the model. As a result, I paint all stands, even black ones, with a flat black followed by two coats of dullcoat. I'm not in the same league of images posters as Pappy, Starman, Tricatus, but sometimes I get pleasing results and that's why I play at being Ansel Adams. LOL

That's what you get when diecast manufacturers use wonky rubber! Cripes A Mighty, can't they figure that out!??

The probe on mine is not rubber, plastic yes, so you should be able to heat and bend.

Oh... ok, then. I'll settle down.

I assumed when Skunky told me it was flexible, "flexible" meant rubber. But... my Tomcat aerials are wonky rubber! I'm gettin' heated again!

Yeah, I loved the rubber blade antenna and angle of attack tubes on my Dragon F-14 when I first experienced them.
After bending them so often picking the damn thing up to re-attach weapons load 1 of them actually broke off.

Judging from my experience, the probe can be removed easily pulling it upward with heat. I'll post the pics in progress if you' want to see.

Re: Intruder Alert...Intruder Alert...

Here's a sampling of what to expect. Don't worry, the changes are not major. It's primarily a maintenance requirement.
  • Vbulletin 3.6.8 system software install (currently four versions behind).
  • TMH Theme design recreated from scratch for new software and standards compliance
  • Attachment Pop-up script updated.
  • Image Hosting software updated to improve performance.
  • Permanent First Post - This bew feature places the first post (thread starter) at the top of every page of the thread.
  • Trader Reputation System - This system will replace the "Feedback" forum currently in place and will offer a more "ebay like" operation.
  • Reorganized and improved default avatars.
  • Enhanced moderator commenting and edit history system. (moderators only)
  • Microsoft Word copy/paste issue resolved.
