Phoenix Missile Pallets

Has anyone found a way to attach the pallets without an ugly gap at either the front end or the rear end?

Re: Phoenix Missile Pallets

Heat them up and bend them. I suggest holding them next to a light bulb. Get them nice and hot, and slowly and carefully bend the ends down. Can't make it perfect, but much better than "as they come". (The REAL problem is that the distance between the holes on the fuselage, and the distance between the pegs on the pallets, is not exactly the same---thus the pallet has to bend to fit the pegs in the holes)

Re: Phoenix Missile Pallets

I used Super Glue. Testors makes Super Glue for plastic models but it works on a wide variety of stuff. I get mine in the Wal-Mart model section. Very fast drying, very strong so you have to be careful. Worked well for me.

But that means you can't ever remove them, which defeats the point of the multiple configurations and weapons offered.

I try not to use super glue on any of my models. I too indecisive to do something that perminant, plus the last time I did it was about three inches away from the canopy and it fogged up. Though not as strong, and maybe not strong enough for the aforemention application, I always use white glue (elmers).

I have no desire to ever replace phoenix missiles with AIM-7's on my Tomcat so I am fine with the permanent locating of the pallets. I also think the Tomcat looks naked without them.
