Re: Gear Down F-14's

What exactly is the problem?

Sundowners gear slid in straight and level and flush with body of aircraft.
Others are not fitting in well at all.
Can get front or rear of gear "box" to fit flush but one end sticks proud of being flush. It "rocks" back an forth depending on which end (front or rear) you press on. Pressing in middle offers no solution. Am reluctant to file part down at this point and do not want to push too hard and break part.

Re: Gear Down F-14's

The paint build up will cause it to be a little tight fit on the first F-14's they made..You can trim the paint down a bit on the gear doors with a hobby knife
CW corrected the problem with the Sundowners F-14's...

Re: Gear Down F-14's

I must be weird---my Jolly Rogers fit fine but my Sundowners are too loose.

Well that was interesting, hellva lot of scraping I did not want to do but the Jolly Rogers, Sundowners and Grimreapers have now joined the Red Rippers (Dragon) in my display cabinet.
..........Only cut myself once.
So tell me again, why are Century Tomcats so great?

Re: Gear Down F-14's

Had the same problem with my 101 bird. Main gear wants to rock in the pocket. Try to push in the front, back pops up, push down on the back front pops up .I did not have that problem with my FOV bird.

I figure for $60.00 the thing should assemble itself.
They all look fine now but............

Ever put a Dragon Tomcat together?

Seriously, though your question was probably rhetorical, they are "great" for their accuracy first I believe -- I'm not too keen on the panel lines and the heavy ink/wash they get myself. But they do cut a mean profile in the cabinet.
