Looks good "inthe flesh". Maybe I'll have to get one.

I really like what I see so far. I can't wait to get mine. These will look great next to the F-14's.

I have a couple of nit picky observations:
1) Should the intakes be more semi-circular
2) Should the pilot's seat be more forward of the B/N's seat?

2) You're right...I believe the B/N's seat is lower and further back than the pilot's seat. I don't know by how much in real life and it may not be enough to show-up in 72nd scale.

Here is a nose on of the real thing. My pics don't show seats well enough to tell re: #2

Here's a shot of the cockpit. Notice that the end of the pilot's seat is even with the B/N's control column. This means the B/N's seat is further back. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the Century Wing's release, just answering a question. Quite frankly, I'm ecstatic that someone FINALLY made this most deserving workhorse in diecast...Thanks CW!

Update: Just checked my library and while I can't find any measurements the "Operational History of Grumman's A-6" mentions that the B/N's seat was "placed slightly to the rear and below his partner for pilot visibility reasons."

Correct; BN's seat was slightly offset.

At least on my example of the Century VA-35 A-6, the B/N's seat is slightly lower than the pilot's seat. Laterally, they appear to be even, but per the comment above I also don't know if the setback is enough to appear very clearly in 1/72.

Re: USN VA-35 Black Panthers, AJ500, USS Nimitz, 1978 is now in stock

I can't decide if I want to pull the trigger on this one or not...It IS an A-6 afterall, but the markings do nothing for me.

Now if it was from VA-34 Blue Blasters I'd be all over it (hint, hint )

Oh the humanity!!

I pulled the trigger on the last minute. I really like the Black Panthers squadron as I built a Tamiya (or was it Fumiji?) A-6 kit in 1/48th scale decades ago. Besides
I do want to continue with my favorite the "Final Countdown" movie theme collection, so in a way this release does something for me. Hope CW will do an A-7 next...
