Re: Best CW F14 Tomcat

I didn't have any major problems with the overall look of the Dragon F14 or even the 'fiddly bits' for that matter - the quality on the thing was absolutely atrocious and beyond comprehension (smudged/faded printing and superglue on wings and rudder in more than one place) - an absolute QC disgrace if ever there was one.

Hmm my one turned out pretty well. nothing wrong with painting and markings. Very unfortunate for that one I think.

Sometimes I wonder whether the manufacturer is responsible for all the problems we encounter. At times it looks like the model could have been on display, returned, and then repaired by the store where we purchased it.

Re: Best CW F14 Tomcat

You lot call this help, I'm more confused than ever now . The more I look at these the more I think that only choosing one will be nigh impossible. I actually like the look of the Freelancers version even more than Jolly Rogers and now I've also seen the Grim Reapers version which looks like it'll be the best of the best .

Just get them all,Cardo.....You have my permission....

Thank you 'o Skunkified one, but even though your permission is useful, the fact remains that "the spirit is willing but the budget is weak" .

Cardinal, my friend, how can you ask an open ended question here and get a definitive answer. I've held off getting one of these because they were going for $70 initially if memory serves. However, with all the positive vibes you're forced to reconsider. I'm really thinking of more than one at the moment, the Joilly Rogers for the air superiority role and the Black Knights for the nasty bomb load.

Thanks Zed. Postage from both the UK and US is killing me. No kidding, I'm really being forced to slow down because the combined cost is just crazy.

Where are CW diecast made?

I've been looking at the CW website and realise (perhaps later than most ) that they're a Japanese company. Are their diecast also made in Japan, or in China like most of the products of our esteemed hobby?

(I'll be ordering a couple of their F14s soon as they're just too good to avoid ... )
