Re: more new tomcats announced

I can't help it. It is a combination of my two favorite things. Women and airplanes.

You just watch .....They will have a fighter jet with a Lohan Noseart that will drive you nuts.
I'll be getting the Miss Molly one myself.
I wish i know when this VF-111 was coming out too.

Nice. That is funny.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Hah. Can you just imagine seeing a hornet with the words "Little Ditz" stenciled into the side of it?

I'd buy it! I love her. I am talking to the National Museum of naval Aviation about saving Miss Molly for our wing of the CAF, or at least the nose, if noththe whole plane. She is still at AMARC.

Eh..look at it this way, if Molly's in the boneyard, it's bound to show up on Mythbusters sooner or later.

Re: more new tomcats announced

At least it'll probably end up in real colors at least----I hate seeing F-14's in museums painted up for a squadron they never flew with. I think about half of them wear high-vis VF-84 markings, yet I only know of one surviving first-cruise VF-84 plane. It's especially sad as there's at least two 111 CAG planes I think that have been relegated to wearing very inaccurate VF-1 or VF-41, because the museum curator etc likes those squadrons better. If you're going to give it a scheme it never wore, at least do it right.

I wonder if the original painter of Miss Molly's nose art could be contacted to recreate it....

"Miss Molly" previously adorned a C-1A COD assigned to the USS Carl Vinson. It was named in honor of Miss Molly Snead, the nurse who cared for Senator Vinson's wife. When the C-1A was retired, Lt. Mike Conn, an artist, kept the tradition alive on this VF-111's CAG bird.
