WANTED: CW factory photos

I would love to see some photographs of those magnificent Tomcat models being produced! From concept to design to CAD to the creation of the tooling to the pieces being assembled and painted. Of course I am assuming the pictures would be taken in such a way as to protect any production line secrets. Yoshi, can you show us some?

Hmmm... something tells me that this one's not likely to come to fruition.

Even just a few wide angle shots would be interesting to see.

I can't help with CW's assembly line, but (supposedly) here is a shot of 21st Century's assembly line in China for the XD Me-262 (courtesy of Badcataviation)

I think I'll keep my job! I imagined rows of fine craftsmen sitting at nice comfortable hobby work station cubicles with magnifying lights and airbrush set-ups!

Re: WANTED: CW factory photos

I read an article recently about manufacturing complexes in China. The employees live and work in the complex. Visitors and new employees must be health-screened and wear protective garments to prevent the introduction of germs into the populace. Could you imagine having no life outside of work? Everyone you see, everything you do is related only to your job...unbelievable!

Re: WANTED: CW factory photos

I know...I'm beginning to feel guilty! Sadly, I don't think we would have a chance for a $60 quality Tomcat if it were not for the Chinese. Can you imagine how much more they would cost if produced in the USA?! We would not be able to afford them. I only hope these jobs have given them a chance at a better life than before. I can't imagine what it must be like.

That's pretty much what Microsoft does. Their employees work 16 hour days and spend their nights in on-campus dormatories. Unless your already married, Working at the Microsoft headquarters leaves very little room for a private life
