Century F-14 Jolly Roger

Well i got my Century 1:72nd F-14 Jolly Roger and i'm speechless.
This is the Best of the Best of all F-14 Tomcats and if you love the F-14 as much as i do..... you need to have this modern fighter.
Enjoy the pictures.

Re: Century F-14 Jolly Roger

I have almost every F-14 in 1/72nd scale of the Jolly Rogers and this one beats them all as far as detail and paint.
This looks and feels just like the FOV F-14 but with a more realistic paint scheme.
Not really sure how a FOV F-14 mold ended up with Century unless it's owned by them as well.Never really followed up on that story of the Century & FOV molds.
The added touch to this.....You can take out the pilots if you want.
I put mine in the cockpit for the picture but have since been taken out.
IMHO if you want a really nice F-14 this is it right here.
After seeing this one i ordered the #202 Century with fixed wings and lowered flaps.

Re: Century Wings F-14 Jolly Roger

I had just noticed these at the Flying Mule. Aside from the different numbers, I was curious why they would make the 202 with fixed wings. It would stand to reason that it would be better to have the option on how it displays.

In any event, is $59.99 the standard price for these? The photos were awesome and I am thinking I will have to get one.

Cheers!

May the farts be with you, and not me.

Re: Century F-14 Jolly Roger

Got the #202 Jolly Roger Tomcat in "Launch Configuration" today and it's fantastic as well....the CW rendition makes for a very nice companion to my FOV Black Knights scheme. Time to throw away that Draggin Sundowner...he he!

Re: Century F-14 Jolly Roger

Still waiting for mine, but I've finally found confirmation on the accuracy of the plane's paint job. Looking in Lou Drendel's F-14 Walkaround monograph, I found a photo showing VF-84's 202 and 203 taxiing during the filming of Final Countdown. There's a great photo of the Tomcat holding short near one of the AT-6/Zeroes used in the film. In the pic you can clearly see that the demarcation line of the paint job goes relatively straight, as DH pointed out it was probably applied "in the field" as the squadron went from the scalloped line to straight. Not too sure about the color of the stabilators, as the pics don't show that, but for the main paint scheme at least, it seems Century nailed it. As for the warning placard marking going onto the gun blister, the pic shows that the model's one is a bit too wide, but on the real thing it does extend a tiny bit onto the blister. I won't post this pic here due to possible copywright issues, but suffice to say it proves to me that Century got it right, and still deserves the crown as Top Gun of Tomcats.
