Question Iranian F-14 ???

Hello

In the Hobby Master section there is an interesting thread going on about why there are so very few diecast models of Israeli Air Force jets, specially given the fact that the molds already exist in many brands, the historical significance is great and the colours are very nice and different to what you normally get. The consensus in the thread seems to be that these models might be regarded by the manufacturers as potentially "politically incorrect".

That thread got me thinking, whout Century Wings ever produce an Iranian Tomcat ? What do you think ? Would any of you buy one ? I think I would. When it comes to combat service, their record is second to none.

Re: Iranian F-14 ???

I would buy an Iranian livery F-14 if they CW spit one out for sure.

Re: Iranian F-14 ???

It would be particularly sad if diecast models of Iranian F14s were deemed 'politically incorrect' given the popularity of Axis WWII models that could also be deemed as falling in such a category ...

Good point.. I don't know think any of us let alone anyone would purchase of oppose this item for political purposes but I'm sure someone would raise a stink. I'd be intersted in one to go with an Iraqi MiG-21

Re: Iranian F-14 ???

The new grey scheme looks pretty neat IMHO, much better than the delivery one:

Continental on other diecast boards
I've spent my money on strippers, diecast airplanes and camera gear. The rest, I've wasted.

Re: Iranian F-14 ???

If I bought one I would probably bury it in the sand box out back.
