Re: Turkeys get replaced with Tomcats

Yep, got the latest reply from The Flying Mule on this:
"Hello Jeff:

Thank you for your email. Just to clarify what steps you have made:

1. You contacted your retailer Flying Tigers for the return and received no reply to date.
2. You then contacted the UK distributor Tiger Hobbies for a replacement and have not received a reply to date.
3. Since neither the UK retailer or the UK distributor has replied to you inquiries, you contacted Century Wings directly.
4. Century Wings will replace the item for you, but you will have to pay for shipping both ways.

Again, if you would like us to take care of the return for you, will need to return the item to us at your expense and we will send you the replacement for the cost of shipping. One last thing, the first 2 Jolly Rogers are sold out and we on have the latest one they produced, #203 and #210. Please let us know what you would like to do.

Flying Mule Sales "

Problem on this end is I paid $ 135 for the extra cost of getting an out of stock one at the US to British exchange and shipping it here. Now I have to pay for the shipping to the US Distributor and back for a new model, add 12 to 17 dollars and for the super CW customer service will have invested $ 145-150 for one new model.

OK, a bit fustrated on this one, spent alot of money and time afterwards trying to get something done on this.

I give up on trying to go through customer service on this one. I had hoped with the story above and the other CW QC resolution, I might get some help. EBay I have to say seems to be the way to go. I do have to say though The Flying Mule is kind enough to answer back on this at least with a bit of dialog. It is not their problem with the sale, but I was hoping being the US distributor helping with the other issue, they might be able to help me on this one.

Lets be realistic here, you'd be EXTREMELY lucky to get hold of another 200. And considering everything is limited stock, the options don't get any better when you keep sending yours around from place to place. Why don't you just ask for a discount on your next purchase or something. Asking for another 200 is highly unreasonable and unrealistic at this stage.

I've gotta ask-----You've spent a lot of money trying to acquire this certain number, I'm curious as to why it's so sought after when it's painted exactly like every other plane in the squadron.

Maybe because they think the CAG is the best pilot in the group and they want the plane piloted by the best. Though in the movie Final Count Down, 210 was leading the strike force

Re: Turkeys get replaced with Tomcats

I got into the collecting of these just a month or so ago and was looking to get all the Jolly Rogers as I Just liked the squadron. Thought I would go for the complete collection of them first. Just hate the idea of having spent so much for a dud. I am not collecting for the investment, but because I like the idea of having an accurate best made model out there in my collection. It rubs me in a bad way knowing I went to the extent I did to get a bad model and basically there seems to be nothing I can really do about it. Worse when I realize how many more great models are being produced and I have this one that I paid so much for sitting there with the glaring mistake. When I sit and look at it thinking I could have had a good two or three models for the money spent on that one, it just fustrates the heck out of me.

To be honest, I don't think so, but hey, atleast its a VF-84. Thats good enough when all the VF-84s go out of stock
