Re: new vf84 jolly rogers tomcats in japan

look better in person.......well the vf154 fov version does.......have played around with the pics in picassa think its the flash when original pics were took.as for dragon tomcats just cant live with them the camo just isnt right and compared to these or fov's version they are badly put together all the versions i have the castings are very rough god knows why dragons modern stuff is not as good as the ww2 stuff

Re: new vf84 jolly rogers tomcats in japan

Plus the swappable landing gear is so much better. Its just a more appealing model aesthetically too, the only thing that gets me are the canted vert stabs, other than that I even think it beats dragon for the price. Looks more durable as well.(Yes I swooshed around my dragon falcon and eagle).

I hope FOV brings these over to America, still waiting on the day I stumble upon these@TRU/Target, lord knows they would sell. Especially in va beach.

I think it is going to be a sweet Tomacat. The final countdown-classic.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: new vf84 jolly rogers tomcats in japan

well thanks to yoshi and top-gun the cat launch vf-84 version landed here this morning.just a quick review but i have got to say its a very impressive model certainly knock's the spots off all the other tomcats released so far.
although the new fov version is very nice........yoshi call's these his mistakes! these take the mould to another level, there are many improvements and i am still finding them.the most obvious are the front undercarriage, rear canopy opening, different type rear between the engines[this is an earlier A model] the wings are nicely done with dropped slats and flaps and are obviously fixed on the launch version.paint finish is very high with nice weathering not overly done and with just the right amount of sheen.the handles on the ejection seats are more refined and truer to scale also.a fantastic model that deserve's a wider market.century and the hobbymaster releases have got to be the nicest diecast to hit the market at the moment.made by modellers and enthusiasts who do the research to make great product

only from japan at the moment but they have sold about 1,300? of the first releases.1000 units of the cat launch version have been produced and 2000 of the normal version, so not sure how many of each they have left?not bad as they only recieved them nov 15th.
they are looking for a us distributer anyone out there?i am hoping some contacts of mine can get them into the uk.email them at info@top-gun mention the forum and myself.they have a good command of english and provide excellent service

It's too bad their site is entirely in Japanese. I have no problem in ordering directly from Japan, but I can't do it if I can't navigate the check out. If they they could put up an English language version, they could do a lot to increase their sales with or without a European or North American distributor.
