Re: Century Wings Tomcat

We should start a poll "who got a shipping notice from the mule in last 48 hours"?

PS---it still blows away anybody else's, including paint accuracy. Color-wise, it looks to be the best of any diecast US Navy jet. As I said---it could very well be painted 100% accurately--there's just little to no references for the exact time it would have existed. There's photos before, and after, but not during. It's just that there's other variations which are far more common that we know for sure it wore.

PPS---their low-vis planes (VF-154 etc) are painted a million times better than Dragon's and Witty's. Real low-vis F-14's (with just a few exceptions) are painted in THREE shades of grey. Witty and Dragon only use two. Century has all three. That's a big reason I never bought a Witty or Dragon--they can't even figure out how many colors to use. For all my comments, the Century F-14 is IMHO the best, most accurate diecast model jet money can buy, period.

Re: Century Wings Tomcat

I got Jolly Roger coming in tommorow UPS
I'm not going to worry too much about all the issues as well.
This F-14 is clearly the best on the market today and i'm going to enjoy it in my collection.

Amen to that, JP! I know mine will arrive tommorow as well. Wooohoooo!!!

Re: new vf84 jolly rogers tomcats in japan

Here are some photos of my Century Wings Tomcat. I built it today and it is now on display. Lots of weapons and the detail is very good. I am very impressed with the level of finish and fit. The cockpit detail is the best I have seen on a diecast model and I have 'posed' it next to a Witty F-18 to give a comparison to size etc.

It is good to have a F-14 in the collection and I would really recommend this to anyone who needs to fill a gap.

Here are some shots:
