| Re: new vf84 jolly rogers tomcats in japan think the picture just shows a phoenix by the bay. the only version's with the phoenix and pylon on the glove station will be the new vf-154 oif versions.other releases and the earlier fov's just have sparrow pylons.at the moment no other planes planned for release as far as i know only the tomcat but i guess if its a success yoshi and century may be persuaded to add other jets | |||||||||||||

| Re: new vf84 jolly rogers tomcats in japan Then everyone has to buy as many as possible. It'd be a travesty if there aren't any more made---we need an F-15E with bomb racks! And how about the OTHER Tornado, the F3? Lots of stuff we need. PS, Zed---any chance we'll see weapon packs? Alternate pylons? I'd love to do a 4-Sidewinder setup. And we need Mk82's to go with a TARPS pod on D models. (The "Bombed-up TARPS" config) | |||||||||||||

| Re: new vf84 jolly rogers tomcats in japan I always loved the 4 sidwinder and 4 sparrow configuration. It's an Alley-Cat waiting for a fight! Can't wait to see pics of the last few birds. Chris | |||||||||||||

| Re: new vf84 jolly rogers tomcats in japan I got this picture of the coming VF-154 F-14A from a previous posting. Not sure this is what you were referring to. AFAIK, only two sidewinders are included as in the VF-84 and FOV VF-154. | |||||||||||||

| Re: new vf84 jolly rogers tomcats in japan
You can attach an AIM-54 to the lower glove station in the FOV VF-154 release. The pylon is still a Sparrow pylon but the pins fit. Can't do the same with the Century Wings VF-84, though (the pin configuration is more accurate and is unique to the Sparrow's forward fin). Wouldn't hold my breath on alternate rails for the glove pylon -- the plastic pylon itself is not removable and (on the VF-84 release) is fixed for an LAU-7 (Sidewinder rail) on station A and an LAU-92 (Sparrow rail) on station B. Not sure what the new VF-154 with the Phoenix on the glove pylon will be like, but I'll bet the pylons there are fixed as well.

| Re: new vf84 jolly rogers tomcats in japan
Yesterday, I wrote an email to Yoshi Urata, who answered me that the F-15 would be "of low interest" for him, due to the oversupply with F-15s in Japan (Dragon, Witty, Gaincorp...). Not many chances for a fully loaded Strike Eagle. BUT: he also told me, that he is actually working on ten-odd kind of prototypes of the F-4 family! So it seems, weŽll get to see some Century Wings Phantoms in the future. However, no hint yet, which airforce / year /camo.

| Re: new vf84 jolly rogers tomcats in japan F-4's are good. While Corgi's is good for a late C/D, anything else starts getting some big inaccuracies. (The J is decently close, but they keep screwing up the markings on them--still wonder how they messed up the VF-74 one, when they had a real one right there that they photographed to model). Some F-4B/N's would be much appreciated. Sundowners! (just about every F-14 squadron is a former F-4 squadron) We can certainly assume we'll see the F-4EJ and F-4EJ Kai. PS---yes there's an oversupply of NORMAL Eagles, but for the F-15E there's only Dragon, which lots of people don't want because of the whole "wrong CFT" thing. Did you explain that we just want an F-15*E* and not the whole family? If a truly accurate F-15E was made, the A/B/C/D couldn't be made anyways from the mold. Only one real paintscheme to do, but everybody'd buy one, even people with several Dragon ones, to have a fully bombed-up Strike Eagle. PPS--any chance of the F-8? There's NO F-8's out there in any scale AFAIK, and the paint schemes are even better than high-vis F-4's and F-14's IMHO. And the F-8 has a decently high popularity in Japan, due to being stationed there much like the F-4/14. | |||||||||||||

| Re: new vf84 jolly rogers tomcats in japan
Yes David, I have clearly pointed at the "E" model of the F-15 (at least I though to have done so. maybe I should do it once more). Good Idea about the F-8. Personally, I would like to see an RF-8 which flew the low altitude reconaissance missions during the Cuba crisis ("The Eyes of the Fleet" - anyone who saw "Thirteen Days" knows which one I am talking about).

| Re: new vf84 jolly rogers tomcats in japan the new vf-154 releases will have the correct phoenix pylon but i guess they will be fixed.f-4's would be a good choice as we do need uk phantoms,e/f/g models,rf versions and obviously jasdf versions.on the strike eagle this is the version everybody wants loads of schemes to do plus the israeli and rokaf.will discuss this with century, perhaps its time for a vote. | |||||||||||||
