Re: Have to ask, how many have the A-6 on order already...

Got mine yesterday at a local store together with the JR210 to add to my existing JR200, VF-101 and VF-154 F-14. It's colorful and looks good next to the JR F-14s.

Re: Have to ask, how many have the A-6 on order already...

The shrikes come attached to the pylon in the box, but they are actually detachable from the pylon itself. However, only the shrike is detached. Its railing is molded to the pylon.

That's pretty pointless, having a pylon with an empty Shrike rail means you can't put anything else on. Same problem Dragon has with their F-16 and F-18's---they mold the HARM rails directly to the pylons, so even if you have other weapons, you can't really use them.

Well, the smaller versions of the Bullpup also uses the Shrike's rail but that's not very useful either.

Honestly, my favorite thing of all on their F-14's is the choice of weaponry and how you can change it. They seem to have almost abandoned that. You can remove it, but you can't really change it around.

These are some shots of how it looks like in its packaging. I have yet to find a place to display it.

There really arent many options to the load out. and I just found out, the inner and outer pylons aren't interchangeable. So its either weapons or no weapons. hopefully next ones will have more options

Re: Have to ask, how many have the A-6 on order already...

I have the VA-35 A-6E on order because I've always liked that scheme, but I sure wish I could have the all-snakeye loadout like the one on the upcoming Moonlighters......Intruders should have bombs, lots and lots and lots of bombs.....A-6s should be extremely well hung.

I've just never seen very many pics of Intruders bearing Shrikes....

Pics or no pics A-6s often flew 'Iron Hand' in Vietnam carrying shrikes. But instead of snake-eyes they would more often carry rockeyes, which did a much better job suppressing AAA sites.

We really could use some Rockeyes---just about anything that could ever bomb has carried a decent number in most every operation. Hornets, Intruders, Strike Eagles, Warthogs, even Tomcats.

Is there money to be made in a weapons pack for the CW A-6s??? Spare set of wing tanks, 2 racks of snakeyes, 2 racks of CBUs, maybe some MK-84s or napalm....If you're listening CW and it makes fiscal sense...I think the A-6 line would be a good target for an accessory pack!
