F4F-3 Wildcat arrived in the mail today

Well my second Carousel model arrived in the mail today. It is their Wildcat with the pre war paint scheme. Overall a pretty neat looking model, but seems mine might have been one that was put out late Friday afternoon (Couple of quality assurance issues). First problem was that the propellar is slightly angled down and the yellow paint on port wing is a bit thin in places (Can make out a bit of the base color.). I was also curious as to why they did not do the model with the antenna on the rudder. I did pick this one up for a fairly good price of $43.87 and even with shipping was less than the going price, so no complaints here. It looks pretty good sitting on the shelf next to my pre war Buffalos.

I really like the paint scheme here.Much more colourful than always Navy blue or camoflage green

Cool Re: F4F-3 Wildcat arrived in the mail today

Very nice score there CC. I like this one but wasn't prepared to pay the hefty price. Good for you.

It does have a neat paint scheme and stands out nicely in a collection.

Congrats CC. You need to specify "Built Monday - Thursday" on your order!

This is a cool plane and worth owning. Glad you have one.

Re: F4F-3 Wildcat arrived in the mail today

The Carousel F4F-3 is a very nice model. Mine must have been made mid-week as I haven't noticed any QC issues. Picked it up after HM announced the F3F and I decided to do a pre-war/Golden age shelf. I do have one 1/48 WW 2 model I received as a gift. It's a Marushin A6M5. The Marushin in a solid chunk of metal, but the Carousel is much better detailed. Particularly in the cockpit. Nothing but a metal rod stick in the Marushin cockpit while the Carousel is fairly detailed inside. The do look nice together.

Mine too. Sorry you got one with QC issues, CC. I have yet to obtain a C1 model with QC issues (other than wonky rubber guns and aerials), and I am up to 12; perhaps I have been very lucky??

I have been tinkering with the guns, but have yet to get them straightened out. Any suggestions as to how to get them to stay in place.

VERY nice A6M5 Lee!

Yes, my only 1/48 WW 2 diecast. A gift from my Japanese host when I visited last year. Very special.

I'm not sure how hard Marushins are to come by here in the states, but one would look right at home in your office display.

All the rest of the A6Ms in my collection are 1/72.
