How Many Would Buy A C1 P-36 If It Looked Like This?

I, for one, certainly would.

To answer my own question, I guess that few would buy a tooling that put out such a crudely made model. However, I was referring to the French livery, not the model, itself. I would also buy a Finnish Hawk and, maybe a Dutch or Norwegian version.

Not interested, sorry Epap. Possibly a Finnish livery would interest me, but none other than Finnish or USAAC/USAAF. Despite some criticism that C1 has suffered on this forum and DAF for not selecting a non U.S. variant, I think its strategy for USAAC/USAAF best. The majority of U.S. collectors will prefer U.S. liveries... and I am sure this is what Frank Dalton is banking on. It's marketing strategy is mostly right here... not overseas.

French, Finnish or Dutch would be fine by me. Kind of like to see this aircraft in some of the liveries that that saw a bit more action during WWII. Another neat one would be the aircraft of 2nd Lieutenant Harry W. Brown, neat to have an OD P-36 from the Pearl Harbor attack.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

The British Mohawk version might provide for some interesting paint schemes.

Re: How Many Would Buy A C1 P-36 If It Looked Like This?

I wouldn't for 2 reasons:

1. I'm not interested in a P-36.
2. I'm not interested in purchasing anymore C1 products for 2 reasons. First, the price is a little up there when you can have a quality HM 1/48th piece for about $20-$25 less. Secondly, I'm still waiting on their promised replacement landing gear for my Fw 190 D13. The model came with the gear having the wheels broken off and their customer service said they were sending new ones...................................that was about 4 months ago. At least Corgi managed to send my replacement parts even with the Hornby takeover a few months back.

I have the Pearl Harbor version on order but have yet to see it show up at the door, but as this version/livery is one that was used against the Luftwaffe with some success by French units I'd say bring it on. Still we need a Morane, Dewoitine or Bloch to properly represent France in this scale. The Vichy livery is often very colorful.

Yes, I would buy the French or Dutch to say nothing of Finnins Hawk 75, albeit in 1:72 scale. In 1:48, I doubt I'll get any given C1 prices, and the fact that this mold is not up to Dora's standards.

Regards,

Sergey
