Anyone have the prewar Wildcat?

I just picked this up from the Bay for $30 plus shipping...not too shabby, I think. This is my first Carousel. Anyone have this one? Pros? Cons? Much appreciated.

Re: Anyone have the prewar Wildcat?

Greetings CL. Good price on a great model. It has a near flawless finish, great weight and detail, very nice canopy. Markings are painted and superb.

Guns and antenna are rubber; this is frustrating and can be replaced with moderate modeling skills. I have not yet done this, though, as I can live with the rubber.

I love the model. One con is the down position on the landing gear; I have a hard time getting the wing heights close to even with the ground. When displayed gear up, this plane is a perfect replica in your hand!

Cool Re: Anyone have the prewar Wildcat?

Ara1, thanks for answering my questions. That's a nice prewar display you've got. I've got the yellow-tailed Buffalo too and will definitely add the F3F when it gets out and I pick livelry that I like. I'm excited, cause I've been wanting to buy one of the Carousel's for a while, and this is the first one that really seemed like a good deal. $30 when they sell for 69 everywhere else...I'm not an economist, but...

HC, yes that's the FM USMC pre-war SBD release alright. I used to have one but sold it to member on this forum.
