Just made an exciting discovery that I'll share: Sometime back there was a post that "suggested" wine glasses as CI stands... IT does work.... Although I display all of my A/C on the ground,I found a couple of miniature brandy snifters amongst some junk. They are 90mm tall with a throat opening of 48mm. I have a C1 Dr1 on one, the undercarriage fits right inside the glass so's the lip of the glass hits right behind the engine... perfect.. Also took a Dora and withthe retracted landing gear it also fits well and quite stable,too. the trick of course would not work with a mid-wing like the F4F. From a few ft. away,I think they look better than dedicated stands.I'm sure that something similar could be found at any houseware merchant and cheap enough as well.
