Re: C1 P-36 in 2008!

Curious as to where these are available for preorder. Took a look at my favorite sites and came up dry.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

You may have to give it a week or so before you see them show up on pre-order unless these are going to be a Apollo special..

Thanks, just a matter of being patient then.

Thumbs up Re: C1 P-36 in 2008!

Perhaps someone has already posted regarding this, if so I apologize, but I saw on the Appollo Inc./Carousel One web site that a 1/48 Curtis P-36 (3 versions, all USAAF pre-war/Pearl Harbor) is announced for release on or about 15 August 08. They are even available for pre-ordering.

This is really fantastic news, but I do hope in the future they do some of the Hawk-75 variants (with foreign markings).

FVD

This is great news. Looks like I'll be getting my first Carousel 1 aircraft.

Re: C1 P-36 in 2008!

Happy to see Carousel hanging in there. Hate to be a party pooper but this one holds no interest for me. A T-Bolt, Typhoon, Hurricane, Hartmann Tulip nosed 109 F or G, 190 A (numerous great schemes), Big Beautiful Doll, Petie any of these in the same great quality as the Fw 190D's. Still want to see a stand instead of the base.

Re: C1 P-36 in 2008!

The natural metal scheme will probably be my first carousel purchase. I normally don't collect 1:48 unless there is no good example in 1:72 scale. I've wanted one of these in a pre-war paint scheme for awhile. It will look good sitting next to my HM buffalos and Maushin planes.

Thanks for the site information! I just put in a preorder on all three. Need something to go with my Brewster Buffalos.

Re: C1 P-36 in 2008!

I will be getting the PH version and maybe another if they come out with more schemes. I have to agree with Bill that they could've done a Fw-190A and had far more repaint options to choose from and a stand is definite a necessity. I don't know what the owner has against stands, but he is steadfast about not making any even though we desperately need them.
