Re: C1 P-36 in 2008!

Oh one can dream but with only a hand full ever made I doubt a diecast one will ever happen.

Yep, not many of these were made, but then a quite a few of the pre war biplanes had fairly short production lines too. To the best of my knowledge there were only 44 to 45 of the Curtiss P-6E that were produced. Other than the sharp looking paint scheme on the 17th PS 1st PG, how many other paint schemes come to mind. There is the Blue and yellow 33rd PS, but that is the extent of the ones I can think of. If you go with production numbers to justify a model, kind of limits the playing field. Right off hand the best two candidates would be the Boeing F4B/P-12 and the P-26. Boeing F4B/ P-12 fighter served with Army Air Corp, US Navy and Marines Corps. The Boeing P-26 also offers a broad selection of paint schemes both US and in foreign service. I like some of the shorter production line aircraft and keeping my fingers crossed for some of them too.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.
