Re: C1 P-36 in 2008!

Cleveland Air Races is the one I am most looking forward too, have always like that particular paint scheme. Have all on preoder though, just like the P-36 in general. Hope they expand the line to include the Hawk 75 export variants.

Me too CC, we have got to have a Vichy version surely.

Somehow I just cannot bring myself to go for a silver P40 but a Hawk 75 I can live with.

How many times have I said this, so much diecast, so little money/space.

Jim, you just have to get these, ( I often talk to myself) worry about the money/space/Lorraine later.

I will make a sacrifice and just go for a couple maybe I can pass on the racer, hmm nice scheme though!

God Bless America.

Unhappy Re: C1 P-36 in 2008!

Unfortunately, C1 have until now mostly stuck to three schemes per model, so in that sense the chance of other versions may be limited. That'd really be a shame, because look how many Buffalos HM have managed to shift! I really hope this will be one to rival that particular model, and to match its success![/quote]

I share your fear MigAlley : I would be so keen not only on a French but also on a Dutch H-75 !

Re: C1 P-36 in 2008!

French one would be my favourite, I think some of these fought on both sides during the war.

I was getting worried about you FVD, glad to see you back and posting.

France's diplomacy has been confusing Jim, but French H-75s always fought on one side only : France's !

Re: C1 P-36 in 2008!

Sent a email to the Carousel 1 folks to see if their might be any consideration to doing the Hawk 75 export version. No reply, but hoping they give it some thought.

After operation Torch the Vichey Hawks were used by the Allies, ah I understand what you say, perhaps I should say that they flew both for and against the Allies but with French pilots in both cases.

Re: C1 P-36 in 2008!

I personally think that , irrespective of any historical significance associated with the first three 'Hawk' liveries, these are the most unimaginative liveries of any Carousel 1 diecast aircraft made to date ...

As far as P-36 paint schemes go, I think they did a fairly good job (Third release kind of middle of the road) on their initial paint schemes. I do have to admit that I really am looking forward to the second one to be released. It brings back memories of yester year. No not the real Cleveland Air Races, but making this model set that Revell put out when I was about six years old on my Grand Parents front porch on Bullcreek Road. I really liked the paint scheme on the P-36 box art of that kit back then and think it will look pretty cool on the Carousel P-36. Have to admit I am fairly lukewarm on the third paint scheme offered, but hoping they will follow up with some of the Hawk 75 export versions. If only we has an intermediate with the Carousel folks.

Oh, do tell why, Cardo. You can't accuse of being "unimaginative" and then not give reasons... because some (well me at least) most heartily disagree with that term as being applied to these P-36 liveries.

In this context:

"unimaginative" = VERY drab/boring/unsightly/uninspired/ugly/dull/unprepossessing/aesthetically displeasing/'looks' challenged ...

(Need I continue ... .)

Re: C1 P-36 in 2008!

I can not think of a more important scheme to be made first than the Pearl harbor Scheme. This aircraft gave us one of America's first heroes of WWII

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.
