Pics: C1 Wubke Dora

Picked this up in a trade with a forum member months ago and finally got around to getting it displayed and photographed....great scheme, and it will match your holiday decor, too...

(I like the D-13 a bit more but this one did make my Dragon version expendable.)

Thumbs up Re: Pics: C1 Wubke Dora

You ain't gonna believe this, but I just received the same A/C from my favorite supplier,Aikins,abt.2hrs. ago,and was getting ready to post!! Love the plane, usual top shelf C1 quality fit and finish...One gripe, which I am fixing right now,are the cannon barrels; the inboard 20mms were hopelessly warped, and the outboard 30mm looked like what my Samoyed "Bobby" drops in the back yard ! I pulled 'em all out,(easy) and refitted with brass tubing,.032 for the 20's and .047 for the 30's . It was so easy that I grabbed my Barkhorn Dora 9 and did the same mod.I was getting tired of straightening them every time I picked it up. None of my other C1 A/C have this problem to the extent of the Doras,go figure!! I'm going to display the pilot sitting on the wing with the pilot from the H.M. MkXIV Spit that I received in the same shipment. The little guy from H.M. represents a 10 yr. old Hitler Youth wanna-be pilot? Works for me, 'cause he's to little to see out of the cockpit yet.You would need a phone book for the whole Greater Berlin area for him to sit on?

Very nice. I still plan on getting a C1 Dora 9 but it seems one will not be enough.

You'll always find room for one more FW190 ZS-VAN .

Follow in Jim's footsteps and buy one of the best pieces of 1/48 diecast currently available - in this case PappyB's photos (although excellent ) do not do this particular bird justice .

Re: Pics: C1 Wubke Dora

You are SO RIGHT, Cardinal.Although I was amazed by the C1 P40,HM B'lo, the Doras, which I had to postpone for over a year due to sickness/no $,are truly the best . You gotta have all three to be fulfilled? Two down and the Dora 13 in Junes priority budget.. Gonna eat noodles and Spam, skip haircut, etc. Already have the display place ready. Now if Frank@ C1 would just perform again?

IMHO the D-13 is the cream of the crop, I love the paint job on this one and the fact they left portions of the underside bare metal like the real deal

I love this scheme. Looks like I will have to find this one and I have the Dragon version that is close with the red and white underneeth. What does this one cost Pappy?

Same as all the rest I believe... 69.99 but you can find 'em for less. I've seen 'em for $59.99 I think with free shipping before. But I traded for this one so I haven't bought a C1 retail for a while.
