Thanks for the background info, parsig9. It is a handsome plane. I guess I've never read enough about Luftwaffe politics, because I don't remember reading about the possibility of Ernst Udet being murdered. It really does make sense when you think about how Nazi politics worked. He made a lot of foolish decisions (like focusing almost entirely on tactical bombers and not on strategic bombers that were eventually needed) and we can only be thankful that he had the authority he did, else the war would have lasted a bit longer and caused more needless casualties.
