The C1 Schroer Bf109 is an excellent addition to your collection Lanslide - superb piece of diecast (with a realistic tropical filter) .

Re: Bf-109E Schroer

Was Caldwell the guy who got you?

Don't know, those limey Brits all look alike when staring down the nose of a Tomahawk..

Congrats Lanslide, as I posted earlier, I don't think you'll be disappointed....

Re: Bf-109E Schroer

Just got it and love it. I'm very glad you guys talked me into it - thanks! Now I have one of every C1 mold except the Nieuport. I'm waiting for another livery on that one.

Re: Bf-109E Schroer

I'm curious about the propeller spinner on this model since I know very little about German aircraft. The one very small color photo I have of what appears to be Schroer's plane in flight looks like a blunt nosed black or black/white spinner housing a cannon. This model has a fairly sharply pointed bright red/white propeller spinner with no cannon. What is the story on this?

Pointed spinner is probably because it is either a Bf 109E-4/Trop or a Bf 109E-7/Trop. Both models had four gun armament of two in the upper cowling and two in wings firing outside of the propeller arc. If it is a Bf 109E-4/Trop, would be later model that received pointed spinner as found on the E-7 model. The engine mounted cannon you are referring to was found on the Bf 109E-3 and I think that there may have only been a limited number produced in that configuration.

The model depicts an E-7/Trop.
