F4F Wildcat

Does anyone who already owns one could please give me their thoughts about this diecast? I am contemplating to purchase one soon and I would really appreciate your feedback with some hi-res
pictures if possible. Thanks much!

I am particularly interested in the scheme shown below. It would make a nice partner for my FM SBD Dauntless with the same pre-war livery, too!

Re: F4F Wildcat

They are nice planes. I have the "Butch" O'Hare version, which I picked up on sale. My recommendation is to wait until you can pick it up for under $60.00.

By far the best Carousel 1 planes are their FW 190 D's followed by the Bf 109 E's. The P-40's and Wildcats are neck-in-neck for third place.

I have not seen the Franklin Mint's Wildcat offerings (except for some not to helpful pictures/art work), which would be the most direct competitor.

O have the Thatch and O Hare ones. I think that they are great. Good color schemes, and great detail.

Fly...

I received the Shields pre-war Wildcat this weekend. I hope to have some time to look over it today or tomorrow. I will post a detailed review as soon as I can. Sorry, I can't post pics, but Mark's pics posted when the Shields's Wildcat came out are as good as any you will get.

See post under Mark's original thread with pics. Sorry fly, no additional pictures, but a long babbling review awaits you!
