Thumbs up "Killer" Caldwell P-40 Tomahawk IIB

OMG! I just received this sweeeeeeeeet looking warbird from the The Flying Mule today and I'm totally blown away! How'd I miss getting this one on
the first go around I'll never fathom, but for a measly $40 bucks I won't complain. Anyhow, I am extremely glad it's now in my growing collection of 1:48th
diecast models. Carousel has done a fine job in capturing the beauty and elegant shape and curves of this particular variant of the P-40. If you don't have
one yet I'll suggest you better move and get it!

FlyXwire, that Carousel P40 is definitely a fine piece of diecast . You should now perhaps consider its bigger 1/35 brother from GMP - the spectacular P40 Kittyhawk, a true work of art .

The GMP is the best ever, but I must say that the Cl P40 is a sweet looking plane and very well made.
You hit on my two favourites there FlyXwire.

It was this lot that talked me into buying them and for once I am glad they did.

The GMP version (Texas Longhorn) has prompted me to completely re -arrange my whole collection around this model.
Its that good,

When funds become available i shall have more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, well, I did order the P-40 at the reduced price, but then broke down and HAD to get the Schroer Bf-109 to go with it (that one was a full price).

I received them today, and what a magnificent pair they make. All hail 1/48, and Carousel!

Re: "Killer" Caldwell P-40 Tomahawk IIB

I would be interested to add a 1/48 P-40 to my collection, but all the pictures I have ever seen of the Carousel 1 models were unimpressive. And yet you all reffer to it full of praise. Could it be that I have only seen bad pictures ? Do any of you have any high resolution nice pics of thiese babies ?

Thanks

Re: "Killer" Caldwell P-40 Tomahawk IIB

I'm with Mr Saeta, I'm not totally convinced, the photo's I've seen haven't endeared me at all!!!

And I really want a Tomahawk, especially Caldwells. Currently have the Easy Model example but would much prefer a diecast!!!

Any high res pic's would be appreciated.

Cheers CKS1.

Ask, and ye shall receive. Boyington P-40 here, and afterall, a P-40's a P-40 right (steve ducks, to avoid Jim's roundhouse...) (Though unfortunately the p40 shots are the weakest of the lot...)

I'm not one to rush off and buy P40s (sorry Jim), but bought the Carousel 1 Caldwell version a while back as it's an iconic aircraft that should be part of any collection - believe me, it's a beautiful piece of diecast and pictures do not do it justice .
