Re: A Chat With The President Of Carousel 1

He did not, he only mentioned how very expensive his cost was for molds and production itself he did not really elaborate although he did say molds cost over $100K each!

Expensive little Fokkers.

Re: A Chat With The President Of Carousel 1

After seeing Louie's Carousel 1 WWI beauties a few months ago, I picked up 5 of them already. What great detail and beats Corgi big time. Looking forward to some new releases in the upcoming year. Thanks Louie! Don't know if my wife would say the same though.

Cool Re: A Chat With The President Of Carousel 1

I think I'm about to cave in and move backward into the WW I age off fight. Up till now I've tried to stay true to my WW II and Korean era collections, but then magnificient modern jets from up CW and HM come along, and I folded like a cheap lawn chair. With that soul wrentching confession in mind, please give me your input on what manufacturer of WW I birds I should add to my collection. Note, I'm aware of Spads, Pups & Camels, Folkers, etc. I'd like to buy the best of the best, regadless of price.
NOTE: my wife never reads hears those words leave my lips.

Re: A Chat With The President Of Carousel 1

Well my friend I can only say with 100% conviction that I have not seen any models from any manufacturer that represent the WW1 era in better detail or with more quality than C1. The Fokkers are magnificent. There were only 600 of each made. There will probably never be better WW1 models made IMHO.

600 of each WWI model Louie or 600 of the Fokkers? I never heard that before.
I just got the Udet striped Fokker and you are right, it's the best!

Re: A Chat With The President Of Carousel 1

Stalag, the best of the best is Carousel. As I've noted before, Matchbox are close to just as good, IMHO, except for the lack of rigging, and a few other details, and are a lot cheaper. But if money is no object, get Carousel.

Cool Re: A Chat With The President Of Carousel 1

OK, guys, I done the dirty deed.

CA 6142 Folker D-1 Voss

CA 7122 Nieuport 11 Baracca

I'm looking forward to the Baracca Nieuport and the black stallion. Ferrari adopted the black horse and a very close friend of mine owned a number of Enzio's toys. BTW, a 1973 Ferrari Daytona would hit 60 MPH in 1st, about 4.1 seconds, and scare the hell out-of-driver at 150 mph. I know, I was there. Merry Christmas and may Santa fill your stocking with the die cast of your fondest dreams.

6141 Prince Nieuport 11: 1200
6142 Baraca Nieuport 11: 1200
7121 von Richthofen Fokker: 1200

The Flyboys models are all 600 each except for 6051 which is an 1800 release.
