Re: Next for Carousel???

Let me peer into my crystal ball............................I see a hazy picture of a MiG-3 and a P-39.

Or is that just wishful thinking?

Carousel makes the "E" model Bf109 already, but I wouldn't mind a later "G"-"K" model..

THEY DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! I must get out more I missed that . I must get one , now i'm off to look, see you all later.

P39 next then?

DOH! yep I forgot all about those, and seeing the £70 price tag was painfull too. However I have decided to collect only one of each type so I shall await the Galland.
Was the first release BF109 as good as the Doras and P40s?

Re: Next for Carousel???

Carousel 1's philosophy up to now seems to be that of producing FIGHTER aircraft that were flown by pilots of note that have not been offered in 1/48 scale by another manufacturer. Since EI has announced plans to do Razorback Thunderbolts, my feeling is that the most likely offerings will be the MK. IX Spitfire and the aforementioned P-39. Both aircraft offer a good choice of pilots, differing theater markings by several different air forces, and have not been produced by anyone else in 1/48. I myself would be pleased to purchase several of these models if the quality is up to the usual Carousel standard. --Happy collecting, markko

I would love to see a Spitfire MkIX or later in 1/48th.. The FM stuff just doesn't cut it....

Amen! I love 1/48 but the well executed models are few and far between. The prices on some are a bit painful but since the closet is full of most of my collection at least I know I have the ones I want only awaiting the space to display.

Now, if I could get a Trautloft Bf-109G (other than FM which are WAY too expensive for the quality) I would be quite happy.

Re: Next for Carousel???

In reference to Armour Collection Spitfires--I have several AC Spits, and I really like them quite a bit, especially the Mk.V models. I have read from posts by Spitfire purists that the AC Mk.I and Mk.II versions have some inaccuracies, but the finish, paint, and markings on my CDC I and II's are very nice indeed, so I'm satisfied with them. I guess my favorites of the 9 AC spits that I have are the Clive Caldwell RAAF Mk.Vc, the Duperier Mk.V, the Daly USAAF Mk.V, the USAAF Mk.Vc in desert colors, and the Mk.Ia of Alan Deere in BOB livery. Having said that, I still would prefer another manufacturer such as Carousel or Hobbymaster, etc. would do the Mk.IX version simply because of FM's hit or miss track record as of late. ---Happy collecting, markko
