It wont be long before we see a real one in the air again. Flug Werk has the engine fitted on the 190D at their place in Bavaria.
The Oldtimer warbird scene just gets better and better.
Now what I want to see is an airshow that has the Me262, FW190D FW190A, Me109, (both E and G) all flying at the same time. Oh and maybe the Salamander .

BTW isn't it funny that the FW190D will fly with an Allison engine fitted! Who would have foreseen that?

However the best news yet is that yours truely will be able to see the P40B and Glacier girl at Duxfords Legends airshow.

I wonder how many photos that digi camera of mine holds?

BTW there is a nice article about the Berlin Technik museum in there as well.
Many thanks Skunky for the tip off. I couldn't the journal you mentioned but I found an article about the P40 in this months Flypast magazine complete with mouthwatering piccies. Awesome Awesome Awsome!!!

God Bless America.

Jim, I'm looking forward to those pics as well my friend. I am planning to make a trip to the Seattle museum where Major Franz Götz Fw 190D "Dora-13" is displayed. I'll
take pictures of that bird and post some on here.

Im really looking forward to this plane. It will be my first in 1/48 scale. Some questions remaining:
1. Is the swastika a decal you must put on or pad printed?
2. Does this plane have a display stand like Corgi or only a display base?
3. In what form does the limited edition certificate appears?
4. In what form is the landing gear assembled? Like Corgi in there 1/32 or 1/72 scales?

We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives.

Swastika is pad printed, no stand, no certificate and the landing gear is kept in place by an ingenious little magnet system. I have both of the Carousel Fw's and in my opinion their quality is unsurpassed, just wish they would hurry up and make some more (even some rumors on new WWII aircraft would be nice).

You may have to ask this question down the road a bit, as it seems Jim has temporarily left the building.

Re: 7143 Focke-Wulf Fw 190D "Dora-13" Major Franz Götz

Theres big news for fans of Yellow 10, Paul Allen, has purchased the plane and will be moving it from its current location at the Museum of Flight in Seattle to Paine Field, Everett, WA. when the Flying Heritage Collections new location opens in spring of 2008.

In addition to Yellow 10 three other Luftwaffe fighters are being restored including a Fw 190A-5, Bf 109E-3 & Me 262A-1a

Mr Allens collection is truly one to behold for not only for fans of warbirds but anyone who loves aviation. The collection includes some of the rarest most note worthy aircraft of WWII many of which can not be seen anywhere else in the US.

This new museum will add to the already amazing collection of planes already on display in the Pacific Northwest.

Tillamook Naval Air Station Museum, Tillamook OR (Blimp Hangar) - 18 warbirds + many more
Evergreen Aviation Museum McMinnville, OR, (Spruce Goose) - 16 warbirds + many more
Museum of Flight, Seattle WA - 12 warbirds + many more
Olympic Flight Museum Olympia, WA - 5 warbirds + many more
