Custom Stand for Galland's 109

Guys this is answer to your stand problems with the 109.
My friend came over right after work and showed me his plane
All you have to do is take out the rubber plug on the bottom wing and bingo
You can use a Heavy duty P-47D stand or the B-25 stand.
There is no drilling on his at all....Then when you don't want to use the stand you put the little rubber plug back in the hole.
Looks really cool too...I might even do this.
I took some pics of it when he was here.
Check it out.

Re: Custom Stand for Galland's 109

Same here i have all my planes on a stand at the moment.
But my friend say's he will give me a extra B-25 stand he has since his B-25 is gears down.
I think i might paint the stand black to make it look a little better.
Funny thing is i pulled the black plug out of his 109 and you can tell Carousel must of had a stand in mind at one time...It has lines all around it like you can screw it on to a stand.

Looks cool, I'm at work so I can't check -- but I don't recall the hole in the bottom of the 109?

I just looked at mine and the stand would work but ONLY on the 109.. It wouldn't work on the Fw-190..

Dang! Why? Would it be possible to modify in any way?

I think the hole is the same one that Carousel uses to fasten the plane into the styrofoam packing, so it would have threads..

Oh yea.... How did i forget that...duh..
I have not looked at my Fw190 since it's boxed up in the attic...
How come it won't work on that one?
How about the wildcat ?
The holes should still be the same since it the one the holds the plane in the box with the screw.

True, but the holes aren't the same.. I haven't actually tried to make it work, but it doesn't look the same as the 109..

JP, that is absolutely not on, bordering on sacrilegious . The objet d'art which is the Carousel Red 4 FW190D11, was made to be displayed, anything else is just sad ...
