Re: Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat "Shields"

You know of all the planes i have ......I don't have a Silver & Yellow plane yet.
That Wildcat seems to be catching my eye.....
There is something about the looks of that plane i like.
I think i just might be getting one of these.

It looks less detailed (wing rivet detail) than Dragon's. Correct?

Hmmmm...this Wildcat seems more detailed to me than the Dragon one to my eyes anyway. I don't have this particular livery in 1:48, yet...but I might just go for one since I have a soft spot particularly for pre-war colour schemes of US Navy aircraft.

I've got the first Wildcat and it does come with a pilot.

Re: Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat "Shields"

Great pics and thanks for sharing! I see ole Carousel has hired small tykes to assemble these too like Dragon. The wing guns are uneven and not alot of detail I think, maybe they hired some old IXO's folks. My Easy Models F4F seem to have more detail.

Re: Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat "Shields"

I was comparing the photos with my Easy Model Wildcat in the same scheme and I prefer the Easy Model one.

Yes, I was doing the same thing and I agree! The Easy Model version wins hands down!

Did the same thing just now, and I beg to differ! To each his own.

Re: Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat "Shields"

One thing about Carousel that I don't care for much...On some of their planes such as the Wildcat and P-40, they advertise 'removable canopy'...I don't want a removable canopy, I want one that either slides (nicely) or give me two canopies- one in 'open' position and one 'closed'. What are ya s'pose to do with a 'removable' canopy???...Not too much to ask I think, for what Carousel is charging for their product.
