Thinking to collect high quality 1/18 top of the line supercars, which one available

When I decided to start my car model collecting not long ago somebody gave me a good suggestion to collect based on certain theme.

And since I'm running out of space due to my other collection, I may as well heed his suggestion and furthermore I think it would cut my spending spree too.

I started my first car with the Enzo Ferrari and thinking to get either a McLaren F1 roadcars or the McLaren F1 GTR road car in 1/18 scale.

Which brand should I after for this particular model? I know Minichamps is going to release the McLaren F1 soon this year but alas unfortunately it's in 1/12 scale. I prefer to collect high quality models only because I don't think I want to collect so many but rather a few selected models.

I don't have the budget for really expensive models too my budget is around US$300.00(If I really have to) per car but I prefer those in US$100.00 range.

What other cars should I collect(available)? So that's 2 questions

Thanks

Minichamps and Autoart are the first names that come across my mind when talking about high quality 1/18 diecast cars, but I am no expert...

Yep I've learned to trust and respect Minichamps quality.

I'm eyeing their Mercedes Benz SLR-McLaren upcoming release. I hope it would be of excellent quality like any usual Minichamps release with a reasonable price tag.
I hope it would be a tad more affordable than its CMC sister.

I'm also aware of the AutoArt Buggati Veyron but since I'm real dumb ass when it comes to car I hardly know anything about the car. And it's a bit expensive also at US$160.00 I read somewhere. But it's no longer available here. So it's not an option for me.

Err but I think neither Minichamps or AutoArt or even Kyosho made McLaren F1/GTR in 1/18?

I agree with 172power..... If you want a 1/18 McLaren F1, you can either get a UT or a Maisto (and Maisto is crapola in my opinion, so UT is about it). I think the Orange Crush street car (with double wing spoiler) and the Ueno Clinic GTR race version (agian w/ double wing spoiler) are the most desireable.

UT made some of these models with the later monoplane spoiler, but these spoilers are not correct on the earlier cars.

Note the rear deck spoiler in this photo of the real Orange Crush road car:

...and compare to the phot posted by 172power above.

Models with the correct dual-plane spoiler go for about double ($200+ compared to $100+ for the single plane version).

For the Enzo, go with BBR.

For the Merc SLR, go with the CMC version.

If you really want the correct orange crush or ueno UT McLarens, they will have "Paul's Model Art" (and NOT UT) on the front of the box, or will be in the old style blue box which is what the first releases came in.

Don't forget about the 1/18th scale Koenigsegg CCXs coming out from AUTOart this year. The 1/43 scale versions are already available.
