Couple questions on chrome window frame lasting quality

Yesterday I decided to finally take home my BBR Enzo Ferrari but two stupid people already bought the two Enzos(yellow and black) and hence by the time the third stupid person(that's me) got there they were all gone .

The maroon Kyosho's CLS was still there but I noticed that the chrome window frame looked vulnerable to corruption.

I also spotted two interesting Minichamps. They were the 1988 BMW 5 series and the 1987 BMW 3 series. Yes they are oldies but they kind of remind me of my secondary days LOL in which I have some fond memories from that time period. Again the BMW 5 series also sported the chrome window frame though it didn't seem to be as vulnerable to corruption as it was much less glossy. I would hate it when these chrome frames went corrupt after some time. I mean I collect for eternity .

Any thoughts on this issue? Right now I feel that I want to pick up the Minichamps oldies as the thoughts of me muttering why maroon why maroon after buying the CLS doesn't seem to be encouraging. Any suggestion on how good they are? I mean the exterior looks terrific and believable but I would like to see the interior and the dashboard. Unfortunately the Minichamps are not sold in a hobby store where you could inspect the model before buying. They are sold at dept store and you are not allowed to open the box to inspect them before buying.

Thanks

Re: Couple questions on chrome window frame lasting quality

do you display your dc outside in the sun or rain?
if not then it should be good for atleast 10yrs or more

most of mine are in glass cabinets and I do touch them once in awhile for the past 10yrs
no problem found

those are very nice cars
if I live near this store they will be gone and you'll be out of luck agian

Re: Couple questions on chrome window frame lasting quality

Thank you Power, currently I'm awaiting phonecall from the hobby store of my BBR Enzo Ferrari.

If the BBR is not available I think I'm gonna pick the 5 series first or perhaps along with the 3 series for company.

I'm not worry so much with the Minichamps chrome frame. I trust Minichamps however the Kyosho chrome really looks vulnerable. And I have seen such chrome frame lose its glossy color and turned black while being put on display case. It was the S Klasse.

Btw Power which model do you own the 1988 5 series? If so would you mind posting the interior pictures like the seats and dashboard also the seat belts?
Actually I want to buy both the BBR Ferrari and the 1988 BMW 5 series for different reasons but I don't have all the money in the world so I'm obliged to pick LOL. Went to the hobby store just the other day and the two Enzo have been bought. So that's why I'm awaiting call from them.

Never mind the interior shots. Got the Enzo perhaps I'll pick up the 1988 5 series in the coming weeks.

That car reminds me of my school days. So gotta have it. LOL
