Robert Taylor Swansong and Abbeville Boys

I only have two pieces of aviation art (Well, at least counting big stuff). A few years back I picked up Robert Taylors Swansong and Abbeville Boys at a small art gallery. Nice pieces to say the least.

I think Swansong is an excellent painting. I love that feel of being above the battle, and getting ready to get stuck in.

Abbeville boys is a nice painting, but it does to have much atmosphere.

I picked up both Swansong and Abbeville Boys for total of $300.00 four years ago. This included the framing and matting as seen in picture. Swansong is 835/1250 and Abbeville Boys is 252/1252. My favorite between the two would be Abbevill Boys, just like the look of the formation taking off and aircraft landing gear in various stages of retact.

WOW, that's an incredible price for what you purchased!

I found these two in a small art gallery in Shreveport. I asked owner if pictures were for sale and he responded that pictures were for another customer, but had not heard from them in over six months. At the time I was not sure if he was on the up an up, but he said that if I came back in a year he would let me have them. It was a little over two years before I actually went back to this shop, and to my surprise, both pictures were still there. At that time the shop owner said that he would make me a good deal on these pictures. When he said $300.00 I thought he meant three hundred apiece, but my jaw about dropped off when said three hundred for both. So needless to say I snatched them up without a second thought. My real surprise came when I went home and did a little research on the internet, at that time I new it was a fantastic deal.

Fat finger typo on the 1252, should have 1250. 252 and 250 now that is close, at least you have the lower number. Last time I checked (And it was quite awhile back) prices for this one were a little lower. Thank you for the update, I feel even better now.
