F-117s being mothballed to free up money for F-22 Raptors ..... that's saying a lot!

Re: Air Force's stealth fighters making final flights

Well I guess if they can save money to buy more raptores that is a good thing, with the f-15 's furture not looking so good they have to do something for sure. Still they are a cool plane and I have taking many pics of them and and have seen one fly at airshows and man I will miss them!

Guess they turned off the stealth mode just so you could see it.

I told them I was related to you so they turned it on so I could see it

That would do it. I do have a certain amount of pull with the Armed Forces.

Re: Air Force's stealth fighters making final flights

I'm rather sentimental about the F-117. Because of the "F-19" craze of the mid-80s, I started a scrapbook where I assembled clipping of any stealth sightings. I still have it. I played F-19 (by MicroProse) on the Commodore and F-117 (also by MicroProse) on the PC. One of my favorite memories is going on a refueling flight when we refueled some F-117s.

I suppose there is always another black project around the corner, but I will miss them.

Don't understand this - the article doesn't come up - the CNN website pops up right away, but no article - just a blank page... - JY
