Re: Any FlyPast and Aeroplane readers out there?

Well this thread just answered a question I was going to post. The youngest is selling magazines through school in the Fall and I ordered Aviation History and Popular Science. Anyway I get a letter stating that Aviation History was not part of the fund raising program any more so I should pick another magazine. They included a list in with this letter and there was not one magazine on it that interested me. So I call the 1 800 number and bitch a little, and low and behold I get guided to a web sit full of different magazines to choose from and among them was Flight Journal, which was not in the original list my son brought home. It looked interesting and I was going to ask my fellow addicts here if they had any comments about this mag. AeroPlane looks like a great Mag that I would like but is not on the list, might have to pick one up at the news stand and take a look. So know tomorrow I will call them back and place my order. Thanks Guys.

Combat Aircraft and Air Forces Monthly are both excellent magazines.

Ad to that lists: International Air Power Review. The publication is very pricey @ $20 a pop, but you get the combined articles, infos and pictures from Combat Aircraft and Air Forces Monthly rolled into one package and then some. You even get exclusive photos of the classic warbirds never before released/published as well.

Overall, this IS the 'ultimate' magazine to buy and read and learn new stuff from.

FlyPast in Barnes & Noble

I first started buying the magazines in Barnes & Noble: They have what you need.

The new FlyPast has an article about the 20th Fighter Group and the Me 262. I have not ever seen a 20th FG "piano keys" model available. How come? That is one of the spaces to be filled in my collection. I do have, however, GlenGary Guy (MC*Z)--a 20th, but no piano keys. What a neat livery that is!

Hi Cruver & crew,

I've been a FlyPast reader since 1985. I prefer Aeroplane now, but would buy both if the articles were of interest.

Aeroplane does tend to have a bit more information in it, but still try to pick up both. I think I started picking up FlyPast in 1991 or 1992, and wish I had come across it earlier. I really like the article selections that come out of the UK publications.
