| Re: Daredevil Evel Knievel dead at 69
I was thinking the exact same thing, Ara. I was/am a huge fan of hard rock and heavy metal and Quiet Riot was the first band I heard on the radio that made me go HOLY COW! when I was in junior high - they lead me to buy a guitar and playing it is one of the greatest joys I pursue to this day. I remember being in grade school and watching EK on TV thinking it was the coolest thing ever. I had many a spill on my bike trying to emulate him and he always struck me as the real deal. I've seen many interviews with him in the last few years and always seemed to be honest and direct even to a fault - a trait he and Kevin DuBrow shared. Rest in peace to both of these icons of my youth - heaven already had a heck of a band band but the addition of Kevin will make for a great soundtrack when Evel hits the ramp. | |||||||||||||||
